In the 2018/2019 Season, Oxford Hockey Club and Oxford Brookes University began an exciting new partnership, working together to support the development of hockey across both clubs.

Our ambition

There are 3 strands to our ambition:

To develop hockey excellence across all ages and sexes
To continue to advance the skills of players at all levels
To encourage the participation of all ages and abilities in all aspects of hockey

Current look

Across the club in the 2018/2019 season, we saw integration between Oxford Hockey Club and OBU at all levels in both Men’s and Ladies’ teams, with a large number of OBU players joining OXHC on Saturday for league hockey, training with the teams, and contributing to the social side of OXHC.

The 2018/2019 season saw the creation of the OxfordOBU Men’s 1st team; a combination of players from both clubs paying together on a Saturday whose season, through hard work and dedication, culminated in 2nd place in MBBO 1 and promotion to Premier 2 West league. The Men’s 5th team was also supported entirely by OBU players, captaining and managing the team within Oxford Hockey Club and coming 4th in their league.

We seek to continue to grow and develop this partnership, working towards out shared ambition and always with the aim of improving hockey in Oxfordshire.

Selection policy: TBC for 2019/2020 season

Fees/subs: As a member of Oxford Brookes University Hockey Club you qualify for a special deal on subscriptions and match fees if you also play for us. All you will have to pay is £170 (£110 for goalkeepers with their own kit) before 31st October 2019 and this will entitle you to play men’s or ladies' hockey as well as train every week without having to pay any match fees during the winter season.
